At the end of the 2025 season the BBF announced a change to the baseball league structure. The former National Baseball League, Triple A, Double and Single A structure has been realigned to the National Baseball League, then five tiers.

The Hastings Pirates are fielding a team in the fifth tier – which has been designated as the league tier for former single A  and Development teams. 

This means that we’re up against a familiar set of rivals this year, but have lost some of our former opponents to other leagues – we are hoping to organise warm-up games with some of these teams.
